Dr. Mansur Ahmad BDS, PhD, is an Associate Professor and the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Minnesota. He is a past-President of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (2013) and past-Presidnet of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (2019). He was honored with the highest awards of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry: “Century Club Professor of the Year" and "Faculty of the Year.”
Dr. Ahmad conducts popular continuing education courses on radiographic interpretation nationally and internationally.
After practicing general dentistry for five years, he attended the University of Connecticut Health Center where he completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a PhD in Oral Biology. In 1996, he became a Diplomate of the ABOMR. Dr. Ahmad’s research interests are TMJ imaging and CBCT imaging. Currently, he is one of three radiologists involved in a large, multi-center NIDCR grant to study the radiographic features of degenerative joint disease. He is a mentor to several residents in their master’s projects and to PhD candidates from Thailand and Egypt.
